Retailers throughout New York State are becoming increasingly supportive of the New York wine industry. We celebrate and welcome their participation in spreading the word about the exciting renaissance of the New York wine industry. Several stores in the New York City area are working with New York wineries to increase their inventory, and to host in-store tastings for consumers to feel comfortable in buying a wine they may not have had a chance to experience before.

New York City is also the home of two stores that are focusing very heavily on New York wines: Vintage New York in the Soho area and IS-Wine in Greenwich Village. Check them out and find out about all the special events they will be having.

As more stores put in "New York" sections, it will become easier to find the New York wines that you want to try. If you don't see one that you are looking for, ask if they can help you find a similar wine, or if there is a way for them to bring in some stock so that you can purchase it through them. And when you find a store that is especially cooperative - tell your friends. Everyone appreciates hearing good news!

New York Wine:
Red, White and True Blue

New York City is one of the most diverse cities in the world.

New York's wine regions produce the greatest diversity of wine from any one wine region in the world.

But we are all united in our support for those who have been touched by recent events.

Great New York wines can be found at some of New York's best restaurants. We had a special program scheduled for New York City for October 2001— New York Cuisine— and we were pleased to learn that even after the tragic events of September 11, many of the restaurants that were able to be open kept the program alive. New York Cuisine is the combination of three magic pieces— great New York food products and New York wines brought together by the great chefs of New York. In some restaurants the program has continued on past the end of October in a tribute to the City and the State.

We also invite everyone who is able to help the many families of restaurant employees affected by the September 11 tragedy by contributing to the New York Restaurant Employee Disaster Fund. Checks may be made payable to NYRED Fund and sent to:
